Désobligeante - Kind of diligence in use in the 18th century which only offered one seat inside.
This half scale sculpture is inspired by the iconic Porsche 550 Spyder from 1955 victorious at Le Mans with a Hat-trick in its class. Five cars at the finish out of six at the start.
Tribute to the first real racing car produced by the German manufacturer and launched in 1953. For its first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 1953, it took a 1-2 finish in the 1.5-litre class. The car gained notoriety in tragic circumstances when the actor, James Dean, was killed at the wheel on a Californian highway in 1955.

The body work is made of ash and the nails are of brass. The cockpit is covered with a ziricote and a swamp oak veener. The wheels and tires are made of lime wood. The windshield is made of curved glass.
The steering wheel is made of walnut and aluminium with my signature on a veener of ash. The exhaust pipe is made of steel. The beech veneer of the headlights lets in a soft light to bring this icon to life.
